Work on the road to Canal City is about to begin but there are monsters blocking it and there are some new missions for you to do to prepare to get rid of those nasty monsters. Monstrous Rumor is the first one.
After you accept the mission, go report to Quill the Junk Vendor. He was the last person to go on the road to Canal City and knows something about the monsters there. Quill is in Presto’s Edge near the sign to Wildwood Glen. Click on him and he will tell you a little story and then give you a Mixing Ball to take to the Winter Wizard who is in the Icy Aerie.
If you already have the key to the Icy Aerie then go there by using the key on the Crystal Keyhole in Presto’s Edge. If you do not have the key yet then you need to do the mission called Find the Key to the Icy Aerie to get it. Don’t worry because that mission also takes place here in Presto’s Edge and is very quick to do.
Go to the Icy Aerie and click on Arcticus Frost the Winter Wizard. He will ask you what is causing trouble on the road to Canal City and the correct answer is Smelly Monsters. He will then tell you to collect some pieces of flora and green elixir. The first piece to find is Mirthwood Bark which is near the pond in Wildwood Glen.
Go to Wildwood Glen and walk over to the pond. The piece of bark is on the left side. It is kind of hidden by the tree so you have to walk around a bit to see it.
The next piece to find is the Whisperweed Stem. The winter wizard says that it grows in a bustling place. That must be Presto’s Edge, so go there. The Whisperweed Stem is on the ground on the far left side right above the sign to Breakwater Beach and below the sign to Presto’s Grove. Click on it to pick it up.
Now you need to find some Butterfaux Root. The winter wizard says it grows near rose bushes which means you want to head to the Garden Gazebo. The butterfaux root is right next to one of the red rose bushes. Click on it to pick it up.
Now you need to find the Green Elixir. The winter wizard tells you that Archimedes might know where it is. If you remember, Archimedes is the name of the owl wizard that you summon in Mage Barrow. The guy who plays the guessing games. Go to Mage Barrow by clicking on Presto’s Edge in your map and then by clicking on the Crystal Keyhole. It’s the same one you used before to get to the Icy Aerie but this time just click on it. Don’t use the special key.
The green elixir will be right at your feet as soon as you arrive in Mage Barrow. Click on it to pick it up and then the winter wizard will tell you to go to the Science Tent in the Explorer’s Camp to mix all the ingredients together to make the monster repellent.
OK we are almost done. Go to Explorer’s Camp and walk to the right until you see the science tent. Click on the tent and you will make the mixture. You will get the Monster Repellent and 350 coins. You will also unlock the next mission called Galvanize the Repellent.
